Why are some young women turning to the far right?

Our new Discussion Paper by Javier Carbonell shows that while many young women move left, a growing minority are embracing far-right narratives β€” driven by housing insecurity, labour precarity and economic frustration.

The hybrid war label is a misnomer, its actual war. It is a war that is being waged by Russia, and with some attacks by Iran. And we need to mobilise against this. This could be done by reducing the number of visas issued to Russian citizens and diplomats. Every time there is a hybrid attack.

05.03.2026 10:33 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

Stressing it's not a threat to a single European country; it has cross-border implications. Something which Nato doesn’t really want to deal with. Hybrid War is the wrong name, it's actual war. It is a war that is being waged by Russia, and with some attacks by Iran.

3/ The #CBSSecretariat drew up evacuation plans yesterday in case of a Russian invasion of a Baltic country. Given the massive number of refugees from any country invaded. Tooma says it's good that they are already considering this problem. He wants Europe to take threshold threats seriously.

2/ These are Sub-NATO Article 4 and 5 threshold threats that do not meet NATO or EU criteria for military intervention. These include a number of cable cuttings, a number of assassination attempts, fireball arson attacks, and a derailment attempt in Poland.

Joint US-Israeli strikes aimed at toppling Iran risk reviving a long history of foreign intervention and fuelling martyrdom narratives. Khamenei's death may bring short-term gratification, but not lasting stability. Retaliation and energy shocks are already unfolding.
