I have shared on YouTube today a talk from Nov 2021, which was one of my first explorations into masculinity, violence, and the Bible. It was part of the @corrymeela.bsky.social launch event for a faith-based resource to tackle gender-based violence: youtu.be/La_t_wyCclE?...
Lastly, a video! We are releasing a video of a conversation with Karen OβDonnell @karenod.bsky.social, Katie Cross @drkatiecross.bsky.social and I which formed the basis for a chapter in the book entitled βMoving from Feminist Trauma Theologies to Masculinitiesβ. Cover, pre-ordering, and a video!
Iβm really excited to announce a few things to do with my edited volume βFor Nothing is Hidden: Masculinities and Trauma in Church and Theologyβ being released with SCM Press in June 2026! Read on...
Though it was sadly due to covering sickness, itβs been a real treat to teach half of this module - a great experience for me as much as for the students, I hope! Some fascinating discussions and learning about what it might mean to be a more trauma-informed church.
A final bit of teaching for the Trauma and Theology module today at @westcotthousecam.bsky.social with ordinands and students from across the CTF, looking at the richness of Holy Saturday for trauma survivors and how liturgy (especially the Eucharist) can be useful in post-traumatic remaking.
We are recruiting! Could it be just right for you? Do you know someone you could point in our direction? Please share!
Thereβs nothing like a website spice up! π

A privilege and a pleasure to preach for Candlemas in Cardiff at @stgermancardiff.bsky.social, at the invitation of @scholarpriest.bsky.social. You can watch the sermon here: youtu.be/Hg54NjZ0k-Q?...
I really enjoyed giving the first lecture of this yearβs Trauma and Theology module at Westcott House @westcotthousecam.bsky.social, before whizzing down to Winchelsea for Nathanael Haylerβs induction as Rector! What a day!
I enjoyed filming this little video with the team at @chelmsdio.bsky.social to tell my story of vocation and to encourage other young people to explore what it means to be called. We all have a gift and a calling to offer - what's yours?
You can watch it here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=oG3g...

It has been a real privilege to be at Lambeth Palace today as a new member of the Church of Englandβs Young Priest Theologian Network! Iβm very grateful to +Guli for putting my name forward to represent @chelmsdio.bsky.social and +Anderson for leading and hosting us. @churchofengland.org
Super pleased to see my article 'Theology and Masculinity: Developments 25 Years On' published in Feminist Theology today! I respond to Ward's 1999 article on what a theology of masculinity might look like, and show how the field has moved since... doi.org/10.1177/0966... (Need access? Let me know!)
Writing this chapter for a collection about bisexual Christians has been so healing for me. This is my final paragraph:

3 years ago, I sat along a riverbank in Somerset reading this as the first book for my PhD work. Iβm returning to it today as I start my methodology section, after a supervision this week in which the words βvivaβ, βsubmissionβ, and βexaminersβ came up for the plan of the next yearβ¦
It was great to be broadcast on BBC Radio Wales' All Things Considered this morning, talking all things masculinity and faith.

If you see this - whoever you are, in whatever way I know you (or not!) - consider this an invitation to my First Mass on Sat 27th September at 2.30pm at St Johnβs, Loughton (on the end of the Central Line). Please pray for all those being ordained and get in touch if youβd like a hard copy!
