Wait. New England long, or Midwestern long? Matthew Perpetua has some stellar annual playlists on Spotify etc (dating back to the early 60s) to dip into.
For Midwestern long, I usually take the WHRB orgy approach. Something like U2 in chronological order will get you through the longest of days.

CLE@BOS: Ortiz notches four hits, just misses cycle
YouTube video by MLB
Here’s the Fenway Grand Theft Cycle, where Big Papi (almost) became the oldest person to hit for the cycle, oh so close

Nice work. Can you dial the DURA down a little (or adjust for other factors), so you’re not including two-family units on a typical lot size? Because in a lot of areas, the parcels above 30 DURA are simply Philly styles converted to three units.

Baseball America had a lengthy article at the time about the season Dead Milkmen aficionado and free spirit Jim Walewander spent playing professionally in Italy.
He apparently received an offer to play in Thailand the following season but declined…

You should have doled out twelve singles in change. That, or keep a spare roll of half-dollars for stunts like that guy.

Dammit. I’ve got work to crank out, and instead I’m looking at Bobby Shantz and Satchel Paige (with Bert Campaneris and Otis Nixon connecting him to Big Papi)

Definitely. McDaniel gets you to Rick Dempsey; Williams gets you to Don Baylor.
For style points, four steps through John Boccabella…

Not sure there’s a path in three. Lindy McDaniel and Billy Williams seem like the best paths…

300 is mostly a myth, although there was an uptick among SPs in the 60s and early 7s.
But go look at a list of guys who threw 640+ over two seasons. Koufax, Lolich, McLain, Bob Feller off the top of my head.
Exceptions: Nolan Ryan, who missed 1/3 of the following season, and Robin Roberts.

I wonder what she ever saw in Chuck Woolery. At least she came to her senses and moved on.
And I thought Elaine Joyce was enough of a cultural rabbit hole with J.D. Salinger and Neil Simon among her paramours. Turns out Chuck Woolery’s first gig was on…the New Zoo Revue? I’ll show myself out.

Someday we’re going to wake up to find out that the last Match Game panelist has left us for the Great Blank in the Sky, and where do we go from there?
Fortunately Elaine Joyce is still with us.

Carry on with your excellent work, but there’s a little OCD demon inside me looking for a little coordination between the countdown and uniform numbers.

To be fair, Johnson would have had to tie at least a quintuple Windsor to have his tie hanging at a normal length.

Always told my younger players, hey I don’t care if you stop playing soccer, but you’ve got to play something.
Years later at a high school function watched my players pick up award for soccer. And basketball, softball, golf, tennis, dance team, cross country, indoor track, hockey, and track.

Which parcels on the Somerville Assessor's map are above/below Cambridge's 33.1 units/residential acre and Somerville's 29.7? A walk around my immediate block shows at least 34 units on just less than an acre. One three-decker, otherwise Phillys, some converted to three-family.

More so for the Summer Olympics, but the kiddos here used to keep track of countries without medals and would flip out when someone from San Marino or Turkmenistan or Saint Lucia picked up their countries’ first Olympic medals ever.

Which raises the question: aside from the Topps Rookie Stars multi-player cards back in the day (and the recent speculative nature of the industry these days), how many players who never made the majors had their own individual card? Some of the ‘84 Olympians, but who else? @sabrbbcards.bsky.social

Time for a discussion in a few moments when down by 28-9, when the Pats kick the FG instead of going for it on 4th and goal.
Because you know someone like Dan Campbell goes for it there, even if you explained it to him a thousand times.

Games 2, 5 & 7, even more impressive. No way Denny McLain wasn’t going to start Game 1…
Billy Martin ran Lolich into the ground in 1971-1972, over 720 IP. Wasn’t quite the same after that.

I was at the July 30 game in 1997, had to leave early but told my friend the Sox would win as long as they could knock the starter out of the game as the Mariners’ bullpen was hideous. Not sure who thought Heathcliff Slocumb was going to solve their problems, but he was toast after that point.
