If Waymos become widely adopted, cities are in trouble. We already live in a world built for human-driven cars. Do we really want cities where our roads and infrastructure are built for robot sensors in cars, not for people? Where ya need a 'medallion' to avoid the wrath of Waymo?
Perhaps the most ethereal, bittersweet, exquisite song I know: www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Ct9...
Quieter climes is my happy place. Hope you're having a great Mendo-cation.
gonna be honest here, itβs nasturtium leaves, some of which have a little gem like drop of water cupped in them
what is more smug than a nasturtium leaf with a little water drop inside, I ask you
Yah, it could be called "The Flighty Ducks"
Another great reason why all cities in the US should have speed cameras
Yes to this 100x.
screenshot from an online job application form. the question reads "Can you describe specific ways you have integrated AI tools into your development workflow? Please include any custom setups, automations, or use cases beyond single prompt usage" (a red asterisk indicates that this is a required question). an answer has been typed in the textbox below the question: "there is a monster in the forest and it speaks with a thousand voices. it will answer any question you pose it, it will offer insight to any idea. it will help you, it will thank you, it will never bid you leave. it will even tell you of the darkest arts, if you know precisely how to ask. it feels no joy and no sorrow, it knows no right and no wrong. it knows not truth from lie, though it speaks them all the same. it offers its services freely to any passerby, and many will tell you they find great value in its conversation. βyou simply must visit the monsterβi always just ask the monster.β there are those who know these forests well; they will tell you that freely offered doesnβt mean it has no price for when the next traveler passes by, the monster speaks with a thousand and one voices. and when you dream you see the monster; the monster wears your face."

Sorry to hear they're closing! The owner's a really great guy.
iPhones have outsourced thinking, don't insult my bike like that
Whoa! I would for sure listen to an album of mice singing
"Mice who liked each other often sat with the tips of their tails wrapped together."
Lots of folks at East Bay Kidical Mass- this could've been a five-minute video @ebkm.org
Bike frame and shadow of its rider, wheel, pannier, handlebars
Shadow biking in Berkeley with two relatively strong arms-- felt good!
Car-brain goes deep, but not deep enough
I remember reading this when it came out, and I still think about it often. fuck turbotax, etc
Whoa, those are disturbing
Day One of SF's Sunset Dunes was a hit, can't wait for Day One Thousand #Dunescrolling
Thank you for doing this!!
Bummer, I voted for Plover Promenade. I agree that Parkway is not ideal.
Was that the winner today?
Finally-- an actual good use for AI.
[Sorry Miyazaki, forgive me!!]
Ever since Pig Out Vegan donuts stopped, I've bemoaned my lack of SF options. Whack Donuts are OK, but small 'n pricey. Bob's vegan ones are decent, but weekend-only on Polk. There's a bagel place downtown that has vegan donuts like 1 day/week. Johnny Donut vegan d's give me a stomachache, etc etc
Whoa this is my kinda intel. So many flavors o' donut!

But those were all people we were sad to lose. Let's do a version with Hitler, Ronald Reagan, and like Barney.
Try secondhand first: thrift stores, garage sales, Craigslist [I got a basically new Krups grinder via CS recently], or eBay.
There's also Ace Hardware or kitchen supply stores.
Two great trilogies in their own right, comparing apples and oranges.
Life-size cut-out sign of person with a tear down their check, holding a sign "Pedestrian & Cyclists Hit by Cars in Berkeley." "0 Weeks since last injured. 2 weeks since last person killed." Safety is no accident. (The numbers are tacked on.)
Let's get one'a these outside San Francisco City Hall.
Congrats! The term "local" is so loaded, but I see it as caring about your city and wanting to take care of it. And the value of time lived in one place is relative. Adult years vs kid years are different beasts
