BBCr4 always run out of time when a guest expert does not support the agenda of attacking Starmer. Another example just now, lancing the barb "Starmer Is No Churchill" showing instead that Starmer acted consistently with the Churchill's views of international law.
Don't think Starmer should bait Trump unnecessarily.
Look at his actions. Enormous effort to increase integration with EU on for instance military and standards. The effort on US seems to be simply to reduce damage to UK not closer ties.
But I am not a trade expert like yourself and bow to that.
It's hard to tell which US adversary Trump is helping most of all.
Is it Putin's Russia, by giving it an oil-price bump and depriving Ukraine of interceptors?
Is it China, the main beneficiary of America's shattered credibility?
Or perhaps Iran, whose regime has shown it can withstand attack?
I don't remember RW having such foresight at the time. Indeed many said the choice of Mandelson was inspired to deal with Trump.

They think that everyone should either get the train to work in London, or they should walk and cycle.
