What a plum.
What a plum.
Peter Jackson giving up movies for his real love, cleaning up World War I newsreels and Beatles concert footage, is a perfect guy-in-his-60s move. Something for us all to aspire to.
A sign at the top of a stairwell that says 'Stair to accessible entrance'
Thanks, I guess..
'Smithwickβs was first brewed in the 1700s ...'
In the sure and certain knowledge of sounding like a broken record @bloomberg.com, it absolutely wasn't. Try 1965 ...

Bam!
I doubt the total tax on beer is lower in Ireland than in the UK, so I doubt that Jaipur is cheaper in Irish Wetherspoons than UK ones because of tax.
OK, but surely the slight benefit in lower excise duty is wiped out by Ireland's higher VAT rate. Show me some numbers here. How much is Jaipur in a British Wetherspoon?
UK taxation does not apply to beer exported abroad, like this. Try again.
Can be got cheaper in the out-of-town branches, but yes, cheaper than the UK, afaik.
A skinny man standing at a bar. His hoodie says "The Jock". He is wearing saggy grey marl tracksuit bottoms.
Pull yer keks up Jock.
Those were a wee bit past their best. Them's the Jaips breaks.
Two pints of Jaipur at The Silver Penny (a JD Wetherspoon) on Abbey Street in Dublin.
Out for jolly Friday Jaips.
Sierra Nevada Citra Little Thing IPA.
Three new beers from Sierra Nevada are subject to an unwarranted critical appraisal on the blog today: thebeernut.blogspot.com/2026/03/litt...
Bring back the cane.
Any chance of a beer-flavoured one, lads?
They added to Untappd as if they'd brewed it themselves. Fuckery. untappd.com/b/queue-beer...
Found two. *Heads off to the garden shed*
A shaken canned espresso martini. It has a crema.
Now look what you made me do.

One would like to think Dolly's fans aren't so gullible.
Well, I don't have access to [checks Wikipedia] cheese steaks. Steaks here are usually made of beef. Aldi sells them.
Of all the things to add to your handle when posing as Dolly, "666" seems somewhat unlikely.
14.9% ABV.
Yes, Aldi.
Ireland.
It does. I didn't.
Two martini glasses of brown liquid. The empty cans are in the foreground.
Canned espresso martinis from Aldi. Yes, I *do* know how to treat a lady.
Wish 20% of the worldβs milkshake IPA went through the Strait of Hormuz.
The pumpclip for Hook Norton Brewed Awakening, part of the JD Wetherspoon festival line-up, currently pouring at Keavan's Port, Dublin. It's a cartoon-style picture of the brewery, with the inconsistent lines and wobbly windows of AI-generated images.
Having AI make a bad smeary rendering of your beautiful Victorian tower brewery should be grounds for having it taken off you. For shame, Hook Norton.
Blogger still works.
*peering over newspapers*
- And have you met the new 'butter sommelier'?
- Gosh yes. Ghastly creature.
I do not advise trying to take a cheeseburger from a goat.
