At a recent bipartisan panel of legislative leaders, I made it clear: the Senate still has work to do! We should stay in Madison and focus on lowering health care costs, skyrocketing premiums, supporting our public schools, and protecting our land and water.

At the Wisconsin Counties Association Conference, interns from the Wisconsin Community Youth Corps had an informative display about the work they are doing on foster care in Racine County. It was a pleasure to meet these engaged, and engaging, young leaders. They are making a difference right now.

The blue corduroy jackets worn by FFA members were very visible in the Capitol on FFA Day. These students represent the next generation of farmers and rural leaders who help keep Wisconsin strong. Thanks to FFA Students from Wisconsin Heights and Sauk Prairie High schools who visited my office!
Children's Wisconsin does amazing work. Honored to be recognized as a 2026 Children’s Champion Policy Award winner. I will keep fighting to improve every child’s health at home, at school, in our communities and around our State.

Reverend Jesse Jackson dedicated his life to civil rights, justice, and ensuring everyone had a seat at the table. His visits to Wisconsin were always for a righteous cause. My daughter Katie will never forget this moment. We mourn Rev. Jackson’s passing and give thanks for his life.

Great catching up with former Dane County Board colleague Leland Pan, now a social worker at LaFollette High School. He, Mary Pustejovsky and I had a thoughtful conversation on transportation issues and the challenges students face in our schools.
Today is a reminder that love shows up in many ways - in our families, our friendships, our communities, and in the work we do to care for one another. I’m especially grateful for the love and support that sustains me every day.

My bill to provide veterans and Gold Star Families free admission to Wisconsin’s beautiful State Parks received a public hearing. Those who have sacrificed so much should not have to pay a State Park sticker to enjoy nature and the outdoors. Let’s get this bill passed!

It is past time to legalize recreational cannabis in Wisconsin. My Democratic colleagues and I have introduced a bill that would establish a regulated market that prioritizes public safety, realize the economic benefits of legalization, and reduce harm to communities.
