It's widely known that autocorrect has gotten bad lately, this is not news. What really bothers me though is how it's correcting correctly spelled but perhaps more obscure words into better-known but wrong words. Sorry you think there's no way I could really mean "potable", Google, but in fact I do.
The hose thing specifically is so weird to me. It's a treated, potable water source! "It's symbolic of not being cared for" No, it was symbolic of running around outside and not wanting to go back inside for a drink of water!
this makes me wonder: do people like "ai" or do they just like the idea of having a low-stakes conversation with someone for whom it is impossible to judge you with no expectations or strings attached. or reworded, is the popularity of conversational AI just a symptom of social atomization?

I had to read the Terry Brooks novel "Magic Kingdom for Sale" in high school and I remember hating it so much that I couldn't even articulate why, it was like it was on a molecular level. I had a similar reaction to "The Hobbit". I wanted to get into a fist fight with these books.

I think we're in a phase of late-dx that didn't exist for previous generations and isn't going to exist (at this degree, at least) for future ones. People won't be playing catch up in 20 years the way we have been.
I'm interested to see how this debate changes over time, bc I really don't think we're dealing with "adult autism" vs "kid autism", it's criteria, societal awareness and understanding, etc., changing. Getting dx'd as an adult now or a kid in 20 years isn't about the autism, it's about the times.

Purely anecdotal of course but I do think it's probably significant on the Ohio Diner Scale of Regular White Guy Politics that the electrician I had over at my house this morning brought up, without prompting, autonomous drone technology and then started badmouthing Palantir and Peter Theil by name
