“Sam?” I peered at her through tear-filled eyes.
She nodded. “I couldn’t LEAVE you here alone.”
“Thanks.” That single word couldn’t begin to convey the happiness I felt [...]. I grabbed her hand and clung to it like an anchor to keep from being swept away on a tide of grief.

In my first book, I wrote about a lone Viking at the Battle of Stamford Bridge fending off 40 Anglo-Saxon warriors by himself. (Documented in the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle).

When my son read this section, he asked "Did this really happen?"

I always want my readers to be fascinated by real history.

I'll be at Indigo Hillcrest this Saturday signing copies of my award winning time-travel historical fiction series. If you're in the area, why not come by and say Hi.

Ah yes! That makes sense.

I've been to the province tons of times, and there are always multiple roads being fixed. Especially Montreal. Clearly politicians are getting kick backs there from the road work companies.

It's a dry death.

Like most Canadians, I have no clue when elections are held. So there is no defineable Elections season. We're not like the US, which has a never-ending election cycle.

Yeah, too much of anything can wear thin after a while.

Usually people say that Ontario only has two seasons, Winter and Road Construction, but this graphic is much more accurate.

I stand corrected!
I didn't realize that a budding DaVinci had hand drawn countless tiny broken hearts in the books, just in case I'm too dumb to understand the text.
And that circling! Such precision.
Clearly all that attention to detail makes the reading experience much more enjoyable! 😄

Wow . . . People actually pay money for someone else's crappy highlighting and messy notes in the margins?

Has society given up on the entire "think for yourself" thing?

The Last Saxon King is 3 today!

I want to thank all the people who have read it, especially those who took the time to leave a positive review or told their friends about my book. The past three years would not have happened without you.

Thank you for coming on my time-travel journey with me.

I loved the show Quantum Leap when I was growing up, and I'm also a huge history geek. So I figured a series about people fixing glitches in the past was a great way to write about periods of time I felt were interesting, and I could stick to the real history.

At this point, I'm at the "just freakin' pick one" point.

I don't care if it's DST or EST for my region, I just don't want to change the damn clocks any more. It's only one hour, but it really messes me up.

My MC Dan regularly apologizes for his screw ups. But here's a scene where Sam actually apologizes to Dan, and isn't being sarcastic. (It was hard to find.)

I just finished watching Bugonia. It took me three days to finish because I kept falling asleep.

I can't believe it's up for Best Picture. The acting was great, but the story? And the ending?!?!?

Nothing like romance to come along and clutter up a simple task like keeping the timeline flowing. 😊

My characters are focussed on protecting history from being altered. Unfortunately for them, it means that they have to ensure a lot of horrible things happen so that the timeline runs its proper course.
They are also focussed on protecting their lives.

“You saved my life,” I gasped. “Thank you.”
“You got lucky, Newbie,” Sam grunted. “Your screams woke me and you ended up running in the right direction. Anywhere else and you’d be dead.”
[ . . . ] Sam was right: I’d gotten lucky … again.

Wouldn't it be a noun or a verb?

"The Viking foray killed many monks." (noun)

"The Vikings forayed into England and plundered many monasteries." (verb)

Thank you Canada Council for the Arts and the Public Lending Right Commission! Every February, eligible authors in Canada receive a payment when their books are in libraries.
I'm so grateful for this funding of the arts. And I'm so grateful to all the librarians who stocked my books.
