A hematological stain of my own blood, viewed at 500x magnification. Stained using hematoxylin and eosin at home, the image shows a big clump of leukocytes (white blood cells) with their nuclei highlighted in purple while surrounded by erythrocytes (red blood cells) highlighted in pink. The image features mainly neutrophils but also eosinophils, monocytes and lymphcytes. Each leukocyte is distinguishable by the morphology of its nucleus.
