My 12-hour delayed flight with United Airlines was due to the airplane needing repairs. Not a real emergency. Instead of arriving at 8 AM, I got there at 8 PM. My mom was intubated at 4 PM, and I could not say goodbye to her. The compensation? A $15 meal voucher and $175.00 to buy another ticket.
