But I know exactly that fiercely protective feeling comes from about the communities in MN. I saw everyone with trash bags and brooms while they walked their dogs during the Floyd riots. Heck, I myself handed out food in front of World Market between armed NG and firefighters putting out the bank.

That’s a very real frustration to vent- I would just say as a former Minnesotan that all y’all up there have been taught how to walk on ice, and these southerners being trucked up do not. So it sounds (to me) more like the joke is on THEM, not on y’all.

The first time someone called my daughter fat, she was 1 year old.

I shut that down SO FAST. We can’t talk about being healthy, making good choices, or body image until “fat” or “big” or “scrawny” or “flat” are neutral words. But right now they’re insults.

It’s complicated, because I know my back wouldn’t hurt as much if I had less weight straining it.

But also I JUST KNOW that “I need to lose X weight” brainworm is from how I grew up in the 90s and I just need to strangle it until it dies.

My daughter must not learn that curse from me.

My psych recommend not taking my Adderall every day? I mean, “pick a day where your brain doesn’t work” is rough. but I do have low-lift days where I don’t take it, in the hopes that it will work for me longer.

“But Jenna, you should use orange or yellow for the light!” Not in this Duskvol, the electroplamsic lights are not natural. But that makes it harder.

So this is the current “finished”? Jexabell, and I just am not happy. Usually my shading method is to clip light/shadow to each flat color and adjust individually. This time I wanted a universal light, soo tried one light layer and 2 shadow layers.

I don’t love it, the colors don’t feel right.

Judy on the other hand, ugh. Her arc was all over the place, she was weird, cold and distant, suddenly friendly, weird again, then out of the blue she’s flirty.

Everything that happens when she calls you about Evelyn feels like half a script got cut. Like she was two characters smashed together.

I totally get that! There’s a balance with “player sexual” NPCs. I always love when certain NPCs are like, yeah no there’s nothing you can do the answer is just no.

But there’s a difference between not even having the option to flirt, and flirting then being turned down.

In river’s defense, it does match his personality. From the start we see he’s intuitive, impulsive, and he just jumps in. So it makes total sense that you have one big adventure together and he’s like “yes this is it, perfect, I have never loved anyone more, please meet my whole family”

Blerg. I tried a different way to render a portrait, didn’t like it, and now my brain is like, “this cannot be done, can’t finish the portrait”.
I know I can go back to my preferred shading method, but I’m blocked.
