I have never seen so many white men in flannel earnestly singing as I did at the Jason Isbell show last night. (Show was fantastic.)

Yes, That Mancini’s: How a Legendary St. Paul Steakhouse Raised $35K for the Resistance - Racket β€˜The Gathering for Good’ brought the West 7th neighborhood together.

One St. Paul native dubbed Mancini’s β€œthe supper club most likely to be chosen for cop retirement parties.” But, this winter, the timeless steakhouse became an unlikely hub of anti-ICE activism.

Candidates who don’t support trans folks are not viable as dems for voters under 65. This isn’t identity politics, it’s a basic moral alignment issue.

Minnesota is facing serious and growing challenges in the midst of ongoing federal occupation and violence, and our communities are calling for meaningful change. Protest can be a powerful tool for challenging unjust systems and pushing leaders to act. At the same time, actions like rent strikes can carry significant legal and financial risks. Minnesota renters deserve clear information about those risks so they can make informed decisions about whether participating is the right choice for them.

PEOPLE AT SIGNIFICANT RISK

-Tenants who cannot afford to pay the additional fees associated with an eviction.
-Tenants who have subsidies.
-Tenants who would have difficulty attending court or representing themselves due to language, transportation, or employment barriers.
-Tenants on a month-to-month lease or leases that may soon expire.
-Tenants with roommates- if a roommate doesn’t pay their rent, the eviction is for all tenants.

Look:
1) I work at a midsize firm w/ much help & still know how to file on ECF;
2) my colleagues know how to text me or a paralegal or assistant in an emergency;
3) plan if you can’t get your work done before 1130 pm?;
4) the district of Minnesota HAS AN INSTRUCTION MANUAL TO TELL YOU HOW TO FILE.

Yep! I coached StP parks and rec and it was free and great but also limited. There is a real demand for the low-cost middle but no structure for it and parents cannot be expected to stumble across "my 5th grader wants to play volleyball" and spontaneously create a Goldilocks system on no notice.

HELLO I WAS A QUEER TEEN IN THE 1990s AND THE ARGUMENTS AGAINST SOCIAL TRANSITION NOW ARE INDISTINGUISHABLE FROM THE ARGUMENTS AGAINST "LETTING" US BE (at the time, for me) GAY OR LESBIAN THEN.

They all rest on the belief that it's inherently better to be straight (then)/cis (now) and that's BS.

I’ve never felt unsafe in this bougie neighborhood a day in my life. This is a 25 mph zone, full of fancy bars and restaurants, a curling club, salons, boutiques, and one of the busiest coffee shops around. They are doing their damndest to wreck everything here.

THIS IS SO GROSS. It is just continually devastating to watch the cavalier and disgusting sexism, over and over and over again, by pretty much all dudes, often in the name of "helping" that is actually much more nefarious.

Something I want to point out to every single Republican or MAGA asshole attacking Biden's "weaponization of government" is that the Biden DOJ had the emails of Musk planning private trips to Epstein's island and Musk still felt comfortable spending hundreds of millions to get Trump elected

One of the first lessons I learned in organizing is that you celebrate victories as they come, even if they’re incomplete. Border Patrol being pulled off our streets is a massive victory for and by the people of Minnesota. It doesn’t make our work less urgent or needed, but it’s a big-ass win.

If you're able to, please get out and vote for @megl.bsky.social in tomorrow's 64A special election. She is fantastic, earned the @dfl.org endorsement in a very competitive field, and I can't wait to see her fighting for us at the Capitol!

Minnesota Secretary of State Steve Simon releases statement in response to U.S. AG Pam Bondi letter Minnesota Secretary of State Steve Simon has issued a statement in response to a letter written by U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi to Governor Tim Walz.

"In Minnesota, we will continue to follow the letter of the law, which requires us to protect the private data of our voters.

"It is deeply disturbing that the US AG would make this unlawful request a part of an apparent ransom to pay for our state’s peace & security.*

Souhan: What good are sports in times like these? Local owners should be making a statement. Better yet, they should be taking action.

"Shut it all down until it’s safe for every Minnesotan to drive to a sports venue without being rammed, beaten, abducted or killed."

Damn, Jim Souhan.

From the New York Times: Representative James Comer, Republican of Kentucky and the chairman of the House Oversight Committee, said on Fox News that President Trump should consider removing ICE agents from Minneapolis and sending them to another state. If "there's a
chance of losing more innocent lives or whatever," Comer said, "then maybe go to another city and let the people of Minneapolis
decide: Do we want to continue to have all of these illegals?"
