Black sand beach with some graupel on it (cross between snow and hail) - the incoming waves have pushed it into some nice squiggly patterns. In the distance are some dark mountains and a storm over the sea.
I learnt a new word today: graupel, a cross between snow and hail - tiny soft balls of snow! Graupel fell on the beach at Stokksnes last night, and the waves continued to come in and made nice squiggly patterns.

The doctrine of a "rapture" is a 19th century invention. Literally for 90% of the time between Jesus Christ and now, Christians did not believe in a rapture. It was largely invented by a man named John Nelson Darby. Later, people like Clarence Larkin popularized "dispensationalism" which made its way into the Scofield Bible and became the foundation for all kinds of theological fiction like Hal Lindsey's "Late Great Planet Earth" and Tim Lahaye's "Left Behind" novels and movies. Literally none of this is Biblical. It's not even Christianity. It belongs exclusively to American evangelicalism. That is, these eschatological teachings are practically unknown among the countless millions of Christians outside the United States. So, when you see people pointing to current events in North Africa and southwest Asia and saying "End Times".... that's not Biblical theology. That is dispensational fan-fiction cosplaying as truth.
Reminder that A LOT of what is being used in Christian nationalism is 100% added to the Bible and not original text.

Study in Nature that just came out shows a 51 PERCENT drop in Dementia post Shingrix vaccine. That is earth shattering. 19% drop was reported from the older+ less effective vaccine given up to 2019. Whew. So glad I got mine already!

I always wear wellies (my beloved Grubs Boots!) when I visit Stokksnes beach - such fun to photography the incoming waves, hoping that the water doesn't actually go over the top of them (it does sometimes!).

Stunning snow at Stokksnes, on this day in 2020. Had I stayed a little longer, I would've seen an upright piano being brought onto the beach and a magnificent performance by Hania Rani and dancers!
