LGPS is a wholly self funded scheme. The pensions it pays have been paid for by the employees, employers and investments. It receives no direct payment from taxation - unlike many other schemes. Majority of staff are paid very slightly over national living wage.

The Referendum was held (in June) before ID requirements were introduced. I’ve worked at Polling Stations a number of times and the number of young folk coming into vote has been pitiful tbh.

Can’t imagine anybody (other than USA) buying American built cars either. If they’re built to lower environmental standards most parts of the world (particularly EU) wouldn’t allow them to go on sale. That will really help the beleaguered auto industry! 🙄
