The ballot formats in the order would make it easy for a bad actor to see and discard ballots marked for someone other than their preferred candidate. They make it difficult for non English speakers. And they might allow the ballot to be traced to a voter.
The entire Democratic strategy debate — "moderate" or move left? fight or compromise? — is based on a misreading of data. Voters don't think Dems are too progressive; they think Dems are weak. The actual math on what to do about this isn't even close!
