My sister passed away in 2020. She was 69. put on a 900 calorie a day diet when she was 16. Her body never recovered from the shock. I’m on your side forever!
In my own life, I also observe fewer people willing to stand up for fat people, and more people willing to defend or explain away anti-fatness.
Like, solidarity with people who are fatter than oneself really feels like it has evaporated in a way that's both heartbreaking and frightening.

Democrats may not be able to prevent Mullin's confirmation, but they can certainly turn his track record of offense and stupidity into two days of televised humiliation so spectacular that he is wounded in Trump's eyes from day 1. That is the job.
Even if it takes years, we have to bring EVERYONE who made this happen to justice. No moving on, no letting this go.
