I’m about 1/2 through the Hitler essay in volume six of Knausgaard. Not an exaggeration to call it the most difficult piece of literature I’ve ever read. Knausgaard captures the most flamboyantly grotesque aspects of Hitler’s personality and rediscovers them in the ordinary surfaces of modern life.
