like this has been consistently built up throughout the games with Leon as a protagonist. it doesnโt feel like cheap nostalgia bait because it feels like part of a concluding narrative arc.

Death as a concept is completely erased and they have mentioned not having any idea of what was erased so I donโt think thatโs the case
From Ear it seems that eating a devilโs head (or brain? perhaps itโs just the source of its consciousness) is what triggers the erasure,
there is a degree of a sliding scale of โformer lifeโ influence on any given fumiko.
I would have to imagine that some fumikos had access to personal effects of their โformer livesโ, or at least some idea of who they โused to beโ. Interesting to think about how (or if) they process that.
whether or not a fumiko ever perceives herself as being transgender is up to interpretation atm because how much of the former consciousness that turned into her exists or influences her current personhood now is also up in the air. but itโs really cool to think about, especially if
