A fairly large oil painting of a tree stretching over the River Cam with speckles of sunlight and a dog looking across the river. A boathouse is on the other side.

I called this oil on canvas Walking the Dog. Quite large and sold at an exhibition some while ago. Goes with the boathouses on the Cam theme. Looking back on it I'm quite pleased with this one.

Crocuses and Ipheion

Watercolour of mixed flowers in three containers. There are cosmos, coneflowers, honeysuckle, poppy seedheads among other things.

I think I'll post a few flower paintings. Some of them may be old but there's sure to be some new ones this year. The garden is already showing signs of life. These are both watercolours that found buyers some while ago.

And two days ago regardless of the heat my light pink dahlias burst into bloom. I swear it’s the humidity that cussed it. They are such beautiful flowers.

Watercolour with pen work completed on the spot in Winchester in 1997. The figures were quickly sketched in at the time. I sat there for about three hours.

Here's another watercolour from a sketching visit back to Winchester where I spent a year at the art school in the '60s. I had a particularly productive stay in the late '90s and this is favourite from then. It was bought by a friend and I'm sure she's looking after it.

The creature

A skulldog with hooves named [_] (pronounced "[_]"), lying on a bed and reaching towards the viewer.

I was gonna inkwash this tonight but things happened and I didn't so I just inked him normally and I'll do that later XD

On the spot watercolour drawing of Green Street, Cambridge (with Indian ink using a dip pen). I loved the extravagant shop signs but wasn't so keen on my rendering of the Halifax Building Society sign and I don't think I ever exhibited this one. However, on digging it out of a storage portfolio I decided I liked it after all. Cambridge was a nicer place then with more character. Many much loved shops have disappeared, replaced by eateries.

One of many Cambridge street watercolours I did 30-40 years ago. Working on the spot uniquely preserves memories and feelings. The shop signs at that time in Green St were extravagantly beautiful and the passers by were sketched in quickly. Still have this one.

Trinity College chapel, pastel. I'd forgotten about this one. Spotted when looking through photos of paintings on an SD card. I think this one is oil pastel but I'll have to find the original to be sure.
