Yorkshire Dales sheep and cattle swap boosts biodiversity - studies
Natural England began switching to cattle grazing at its Ingleborough site in the Dales in 2004.
Good news.
Replacing sheep with cattle at a nature reserve in the Yorkshire Dales has led to a boost in biodiversity.
A third of the UK's plant species can be found, including rare flowers like Teesdale violet, early purple orchid & Yorkshire sandwort.

Went to see Nye tonight at the National Theatre. Absolutely amazing, Michael Sheen smashed it out of the park. An emotional journey through Bevan's life and the creation of the NHS. Pretty resonant today on its 77th anniversary!

Cyclists keep dying on British roads β but why?
A coronerβs βPrevention of Future Deathsβ report is supposed to prevent further fatalities, but the system is alleged to be failing
There are elaborate systems in place for tackling death and injury in the air, rail and maritime sectors, but not for roads.
The last Government promised a Road Safety Investigation Branch, then dropped it. The new Govβt says they have no plans for one.

Advent wreath
On this wet and grey November day, and in adventide, it was great to welcome the βJuan y Carlosβ Wesley pilgrimage of the United Methodist Church along with senior figures from British Methodism to discuss migration. Plenty of food for thought - how do we respond to the needs of our local community.

View of the river Thames, clear and sunny.
Treading gently with my first #bluesky post. A cold but clear morning's cycle in earlier today. The view from Vauxhall bridge down the river is always one of the best bits.
