New term - New episode!
Why do so many people hate teachers?
This was inspired by a few msgs we received & some quite trollish comments on our social media pages recently.
(We say in the ep, so many people don't but the minority are so loud)

New episode out now!
I think the recent Ofsted changes are even more frustrating because they pretended for so long they were actually listening to us.
Loads extra packed into this one (TA exploitation, tough job of a good leader, Hayden's lookalike..) #edusky

Amazing! Mentioned the Pruning Principle in the podcast recently - the way to go!
Brand new episode out now!
Why do we try and teach SO much content to young children?
Why are we SO driven by data points and lines we make up?

New Episode π¨
I bet every teacher has either thought this themselves or spoken to a colleague who has...
"I would leave teaching, but I just can't.."
There are loads of reasons why.
We look at them this week & offer solutions, whether it's staying or getting out

Such lovely feedback on this one! π
It was so nice to talk about our passion, maths, and talk about what good maths teaching looks like.
Properly defining fluency, reasoning and problem solving was my favourite part... Some myths dispelled!

The children were SOO inspired by your interest in their writing and the fact you had said hello to them. I can't wait to show you their writing next week! π
Love it, Gareth!

Had 3 separate people message to say this was their favourite episode yet!
I don't normally go on about how you "must" listen to our podcast (it cringes me out a bit) but ....

Hahaha I can get behind this. I taught myself what a determiner was when I was training. π«
Ooooooh I have never heard this take! Something to think about
Nice! I like it in the context of something explorative and with other numbers systems, but I just don't care if they know what L is at 8 years old.
I remember doing a lesson on the history of numbers and it was one of my favourites
I just can't get past teaching it as something there tested on at 8 years old when most of them can't even double a two digit number properly π
