Plus even with successes like Overwatch and Marvel Rivals, there’s always gonna be the challenge of maintaining interest, which leads to drop in players which leads to drop in revenue which leads to layoffs.
It’s just more noticeable with HighGuard because the drop in players is more severe

They fail to understand that we can’t have 50+ of these games because unlike single player offerings (including shooters like Doom) don’t have endings, they’re meant to be played… endlessly, so it’s hard for the company to drive interest in their new game while the rest is still busy with the other.
