This is my usual reminder that the team I really hate is Man U. But wow, this Tottenham thing is becoming a car crash that you canβt look away from.

This is 1) the best essay Iβve read in a while on OpenAIβs situation specifically, and 2) the whole question around LLMs as a new flavor of compute. Act accordingly. www.techmeme.com/260221/p5#a2...
β.. βmany system vendors will go bankrupt or exit product lines due to a lack of memory. Mobile phone production will be reduced by 200-250 million units, and PC and TV production will be significantly reduced.β Yikes.β

You do realize you wonβt have to post here anymore soon right? AI will do it for you. The thing is: youβll still scroll as much as you ever did and wonβt notice the difference.
Winner.
Am I wrong or does Apple need to release Macs that are like total beasts for doing AI very soon?
Press a button and make one? Oh and the plot can be exactly the way I want it? How many people would take that choice?
Listen, I want it NOT to be true. But I also donβt like the fact that most people spend 2 hours a day watching algorithm delivered 10 second videos either. Plus thereβs the Napster/on demand example. I feel like watching a new James Bond right now. There isnβt one. But youβre saying I could
I agree with you. But Iβm not sure itβs going to matter to 90% of people.
I've actually been to the desert on a horse with THREE names: "Filly Michael Thomas." The original owner was a huge Miami Vice fan.

That's not how you say it? It's MATE-or?
the time it takes them to do the swap out as well, which you have kind of just proven to me. So the bottom line is, if you download the show within an hour of me hitting publish, you probably get the ads. If you download it, say, 3 hours after I hit publish... no ads. Stupid Apple.
file. So, one feed, but they replace the files. Problem is... Apple doesn't refresh the feed immediately. I've had to wait for as long as an hour before they refresh the RSS feed so I can upload the ad free file and they swap it out. Because they have this lag, I've SUSPECTED that there's a lag in
Supercast, has a totally separate feed, where I upload a DIFFERENT mp3 file of the show without the ads. Apple doesn't do it that way. Apple needs to see the WITH ADS show show up in the main feed first, THEN you have to upload the AD FREE file so that Apple can replace the AD file with the AD FREE
Well, there's not a "good" reason for it, but you've proven something is happening that I suspected was happening. So... stick with me for a second. There's the "main" rss feed hosted on Megaphone. I upload a file that has the ads in it, and hit publish. Then, the other subscription service....
Hold on. In a meeting. Iβll explain. But check yesterdayβs episode. Redownload it. Does yesterdayβs have ads?
CES week or any time I go out of town is always stressful. Been waking up at 4am local time just to do the show and even then Iβve been late every day so far. :(
You and me both! Sometimes I canβt be bothered to look it up or sound it out. You probably didnβt notice but every show this week has been late cause: CES. :) but I do try when I can.
Remind me to mention this!
hoobastink, stank, stunk
so very true
They used to "laugh and call him names." Now they're all dead
yeah. Like my Rad History episodes. Just posted the history of Toys-R-Us. Anyway, if I forget to mention this, SERIOUSLY... please remind me.
OMG! This is amazing! I hope I remember to talk about this on Monday! If I don't, ping me and remind me. And is there anything you want me to shout out as thanks for doing this?

Bjork in the 1990's
Here's Bjork again for no reason at all.
Wellβ¦ and that comes down to the simple question of time. As I say sometimes, I try hard to present all sides of an argument. In this particular case I just didnβt. But, again, I try. :)
Ooohhh... interesting. Except reading things (quoting) is like 90% of the show. But that's an interesting idea.
That's the attempt I make, anyway...
