A pathway cutting through some shallow pools in a cave.
Went spelunking last weekend, and it felt a little bit Fern Gully. Taken on my phone. #caves #naturephotography #EastCoastKin

Very cool! I captured this log with “eye sockets” a few years ago. When I looked through the viewfinder, an “eyeball” completed the illusion and scared the crap outta me 😱. Pareidolia really gets you sometimes!
Thank you! 🙏
Thanks, Rob!

I love the smell of #borb in the morning. #BirdOfTheDay

#BirdOfTheDay #PowerPose full frame of a sandhill crane shot I shared previously in a collage. These guys are so pretty 🤩

Can Terry turn into a golden ring and duplicate himself enough times to go super saiyan? This is my wish for Terry.

#BlueSkyMonday At the Oregon Coastal Aquarium. I had a hard time with my digital camera here, but I got lots of amazing pics on my phone #🐟
Thank you! This was not long after I got my camera, and it’s one of my favorite shots.
A black-and-white 3/4 portrait of a flamingo from behind.
Continuing with my flamingo theme (and with reposting old photos 👀)

“ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED!?”
Siberian Crane looking at its reflection.
A re-edit of a crane photo I really liked from last year. I think I brought out more detail, and I love the inquisitive look in its eyes 🤍

A black-and-white photo of two wenches giving a vaudevillian comedy show at a Renaissance Faire.
A couple of wenches at the Ren Faire last summer. It’s like if Lucy and Ethel really let themselves go 🫣. #AlphabetChallenge #WeekCForCostume #HumansOfBluesky

A little finch of some sort (?) for #BirdOfTheDay #PerfectPerch. From Horicon Marsh in #Wisconsin early spring 2025.
This seems increasingly common on liberal and lefty outlets I watch, and it sucks. Even if I accept the defense that it’s calling out some perceived hypocrisy among homophobic right wingers, these outlets know you can’t hypocrisy-shame the right. Feels shitty!
A blue and yellow swirl of fish crowd some sharks in a tank at the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago.
Ok it’s not Monday, and this isn’t the sky, but I’m still 33% correct #BlueSkyMonday #photography
I like this a lot! Textured, saturated, empty and lush at the same time. Very cool!
Got that thick winter bod 👀
Thank you! There was blinding sun that day, so I’m happy with the amount of detail in the whites and highlights.
And they know it too!
An egret wading in the water with its wings spread.
An egret for #BirdoftheDay #OpenWings. I probably took 100 pictures waiting for it to spread its wings, only to end up clipping them 🤷♂️. Still looks stunning though! #🪶
They are! This was at a dam and fish hatchery where you’re allowed to feed them, so they were more than happy to pose for photos.
A #mallard family photo for the #BirdoftheDay #groups theme 🦆🦆🦆. From Bonneville Dam in #Portland.
