The rugby....
The rugby....
Beamish suddenly cropping up everywhere in the North.
It's great but what prompted this?
Bogans in Omagh.
Tonight's pour - in anticipation of the rugby.
Great wee pub. Great walk too.
Denim and Diesel - heard in Belfast doctors surgery circa 2010....
Which one are you going for?
The Tayto crisps produced in Tandragee are far and away superior to the ones made in County Meath. It's not even close. My wife may disagree with me, but several rounds of counselling saw us through the 'Great Tayto Wars' early in our marriage (2006–2010)....
Look, I have nothing but sympathy for you on a day's travel from Hell. I also hope your poor back & neck is feeling better sooner rather than later. And yes, Belfast Grand Central Station is rather nice. I'm surprised we didn't feck that one up.
BUT...
Our apologies for having to deal with that guy 😔
Been a while. Forgotten how good this was. Really creamy, viscous mouth feel too...
Well that went better than expected...
Midweek pints at the Duke of York, Belfast.
Much more sedate affair compared to the last time I was there.
No live music, which is not unexpected for a Wednesday. Still, a nice chilled vibe and could get a seat easily enough.
That's a photo of the Garrick in Belfast though....
The drunken arseholes would have put paid to much of the enjoyment for me...
Feel better soon.
Is the John Bull pub in Aalborg still a good spot for a drink?
Is it because it breaks Rule 3 as explained by my father to me when I started drinking?
1) Never drink on an empty stomach.
2) Never mix your drinks.
3) ALWAYS buy your round.
In fairness, the first two always felt more like guidelines but the last one was an absolute and non-negotiable...
Once you notice it, you can’t unsee it: nobody on US TV shows ever finishes an alcoholic drink. They order it, or worse have one bought for them, say a line or two before moving on to their next trauma.
Watch any of the Taylor Sheridan shows for prime examples of this.
It pisses me off no end....
#bottlekill and its replacement. Looking to have a few more open bourbons in the cabinet.
All on the list to try - as is Kilkerran.
The level of ownership the Springbank distillery has over its maltings, distilling and bottling is impressive but enough to warrant secondary market prices? No....
Doesn't really deserve the hype in my opinion. It's ok but it's nothing special....
If I was tasting these blind, I could be convinced they were from the same distillery. A lot of shared characteristics. The Arran wins it for its honeyed notes and a bit more refined on the finish.
Winner: Arran

There are other kinds of beans?
How is it now?

Mullet Software development pattern:- neat and tidy at the front-end, but an absolute horror show at the back-end....
Well done. I remember after I moved to East Belfast in my 20s back in the late 90s and seeing the murmurations for the first time. Absolutely brilliant. Well done to all involved for the making sympathetic changes required to bring the starlings back in numbers.
