Fully agree. Even reading it alone without any online discourse I remember thinking that actress explanation was insane. I see how it ages Peter up, but I’m firmly in the Aunt May should have stayed dead camp. She’s had some ok stuff done with her but nothing as good as that #400 conversation.
That said, when people complain that Joe Quesada is the guy with a personal vendetta against Mary Jane and the Spider-Marriage I just think, like, the Clone Saga existed purely to try and fix it. Not 7 years after it happened they were trying to reverse it, Joe Q just actually did it, no backsies.
Yeah, in all fairness "Norman Osborn did all of this because he's Norman Osborn" is probably the best play they could have gone with, and that aspect does land. The dangling spider-baby thread is probably the most egregious, I don't know if they ever explained what Alison Mongrain was up to!
I just re-read Spider-Man: Revelations (the clone saga finale from 1996) and it's hard to separate my youthful recollections of how important it all felt from the adult knowledge that it was an editorial office scrambling to get out of a colossal disaster of their own making.

Ah, nice! I wanted to see the film at LFF after spotting it in the brochure but couldn't make it to a showing. Though I'm thinking it's probably on VOD now, so I'll have to track it down. The game isn't very demanding so there's a chance you can play it, but yeah, it's never certain with laptops.
Last night Anna and I played EXIT 8 which is an excellent one-sitting horror game. We both had a great time playing it, even though I feel somewhat betrayed that a game might use my interest in metro systems against me. We got it on PS5 but I think it's on other stuff if you've never played it.
An action figure I pre-ordered in May 2024 just shipped. Please remind me never to buy a MAFEX figure until it's actually released ever again.
This does mean I have two copies of the issue where Peter Parker's secret agent parents rescue Wolverine from the secret nazis. But let's face it, that's the kind of comic that's worth owning twice. It's drawn by John Romita Sr.!

Your two options are a system reset when the power load gets too high, or depending on safety features/you might see the system freeze instead. Only when gaming, though. Freezing could have alternative causes though, a reset is much more likely what you’d see if the PSU can’t cope.
Listened to the new Gorillaz album earlier and it’s SO good. Top 3 of their entire output good. I don’t think any album will ever be Demon Days for me again, but this comes very close in terms of hitting a moment.

A few weeks ago I literally wrote a review where I said words to the effect of “Larry Hama’s Wolverine is the ‘real’ Wolverine to me” so it’s gratifying to see him coming out against these chumps.
The number of people I’ve seen today getting turned down, including big artists from major comic companies, makes me think they should expand artists alley and shrink the space given over to people selling tat you can buy off Temu.

Went to a screening of the new Gorillaz music video at the Prince Charles Cinema earlier. Honestly an incredible way to see it. Love those guys. Extremely excited for the new album tomorrow, I saw it debuted in full live last year and it was very special.
I had the same thought. I think it was announced with a co-writer so maybe something will come out regardless. Jeez, though. Cruel twist either way.

My position is that any time you spend with colleagues you wouldn’t otherwise choose to see outside of work hours is unpaid labour.
Absolutely that. It would make so much more sense if it was just members of the public rather than presenters and performers thinking “oh shit, am I stupid?” - and the pauses while we wait to see if anyone can answer. Even Only Connect has music to fill the bits where they’re just thinking.
