Mithras and the AI Many aspects of an ancient Roman cult are unknown for us, especially if this cult had sometimes (or always?) initiations and mystery aspects. We are not sure, how often the members of a Mithaic gro…

I was negociating with AI for an hour or more to create some of the initiation scenes of a Mithras sanctuary. As nudity is not really allowed, this was the "best" I could do.

Amazing news: the recently discovered 6th Mithras sanctuary in Aquincum (Budapest, Hungary) will be saved and later restored.

Orbán Viktor yesterday went beyond any acceptable limits: no Christians and no conservatives should tolerate this.
He named his political enemies as “bugs” (“poloska”) which need to be “cleaned”.
Similar political discourse was made in 1942 by Szálasi Ferenc.
Nobody should tolerate this.

The amazing Getic helmet from Cotofenesti is one of the national treasures of Romania. Today it was stollen with 3 Dacian bracelets from a small Dutch museum where it was in a temporary exhibition.
Why aren’t there armed guards when you have 2 kg of ancient gold…

The success of Manfred Clauss' book on Roman Mithras is proved by the fact, that it was translated even recently in Estonian (2019) and French (2021).

We lost one of the most prestigious researchers of antiquity:
His book on Roman Mithras is and will be one of the best summaries of the cult and his epigraphic database will be used by hundreds of students and scholars globally.
