Please, I will return “THE NOISE OF E20” film (a Hungarian art-house thriller about a pair of haunted earphones) I rented from Laser on George’s St sometime in 2011.

Ke Huy Quan wrote a memoir and didn’t call it SHORT ROUND: LONG STORY and I think that’s a damn shame.

FUCK Creedance, MARRY Clearwater, KILL Revival
I visited Carrifran Wildwood myself last summer, and the scale of what has been achieved there truly has to be seen to be believed.
At least 400,000 acres is now being rewilded in Scotland: an incredible 2.1% of the whole country, and rapidly increasing all the time.
Come ON, Ireland!!
FUCK Creedance, MARRY Clearwater, KILL Revival
“elite human capital” lol
I watched the pilot. The grey chrome smear of the visuals and my kneejerk irritation with every character did not endear me to watch the second one.
The music was good, though.
Always with the "light chuckling", but how do they manage to always edit out the air-sucking hiss of "Jesus fucking Christ, are you fucking serious?” that someone - for the love of god, there must be SOMEONE - is muttering

Fond memories of working at NTL, woman rang up screaming at me. Her husband in background shouts at her, “don’t talk to them like that. They’re on fuck all”
Then he takes phone off her, and gives me a line which I have used myself since
“Do you have a manager you dislike intensely I can speak to?”
Russia launched its full-scale invasion exactly four years ago.
If anyone had told us, during that first month, that this would be the situation four years later, we would have instantly called it a massive Ukrainian victory and a staggering Russian defeat
The covers of both books with quotes in praise of them, and of specific stories: “‘Modern Buildings In Wessex’, which pulls a compelling horror narrative out of several architectural reviews, is an all-timer. Can’t recommend enough... Fans of Ghostwatch and Inside No. 9 – run don’t walk.” Trevor Henderson “...a tremendous collection, hugely enjoyable, and essential... for anyone interested in the English ghost story... ‘Men Who Live in Caravans’... is one of my very favourite stories of recent years: a future classic of the English weird, full of an almost unbearable sadness, quite exquisitely told.” Seán Padraic Birnie
Between them ‘Municipal Gothic’ and ‘Intervals of Darkness’ have 27 stories full of haunted buildings, haunted people, and working class weirdness. Obviously *I* think they're great – but so do strangers who owe me nothing!

Buzz and Woody from TOY STORY, buzz pointing off screen and declaiming: BULLSHIT FROM GOOGLE AS FAR AS THE EYE CAN SEE..
Responding to praise about the unusual level of researched detail in my scripts:
scene from the godfather II where Michael gives an order to his bodyguard/assassin Neri regarding his brother Fredo:
Rolling news from the Guardian regarding the arrest of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor
“I don’t want anything to happen to him while our mother is alive."

I think I was reasonably steamed coming out of it the SECOND time*, but I can’t say I was particularly angry. Tired, perhaps.
*through an unfortunate mix-up, I’d promised to see it with two different people and I hadn’t the heart to let either one down.
Tom Noonan’s directorial debut WHAT HAPPENED WAS… (an adaptation of his own stageplay) won the Grand Jury Prize and Waldo Salt Screenwriting Award at Sundance in 1994. @filmsradiance.bsky.social have a spanking restored version on blu-ray: www.radiancefilms.co.uk/products/wha...
Thank you, Mick! 🫡
Despite its prosaic title, THE DAMNED (2024) is a beautiful piece of filmmaking. An Irish/Norwegian co-production, it is filled with dread and stunning Nordic visuals. Available on Hulu here in the States.
what a time to be alive etc
Movie site headline that reads: “MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE Stills Reveal New Look At Ram Man, Fisto,”
Bill Hader doing an impression of Oliver Reed explaining the difference between acting on stage & acting on film.
Love how he cracks Paul Giamatti up.
