I wonder what's going on over at the Pravda (Fox) news..

You just couldn't make it up.

Just a reminder that Australia's rooftop solar program has been so successful that electricity is *FREE* for 3 hours per day in 3 of their states.

We are still exposed to the surging price of gas, oil, coal because we choose to elect climate denying morons.

Oh.

Maybe investing in renewables would have been a good idea instead of lying and doing everything possible to shut them down.

I honestly don’t know how to process this.

What’s different here that makes us so broken in this way?

I’ve spent years, decades, obsessing over the Bush Administration’s Iraq WMD lies, writing about them, debunking them.

I can think of no lie about Iraq WMDs told by Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld et al that comes even close to the enormity and absurdity of this lie from Donald Trump.

And is it going to be a disaster (yes) but we’ll forget and do it again in 15-20 years?

Am I just old enough now to see the same bad ideas recycled again?

- Maybe we should just have a fascist strongman renew our country?
- Maybe starting a war in the Middle East is a good idea?

Totally agree. RCV is much better for single winner election.

Jungle primaries could be on the ballot in MA in November.

This would be one of the reasons that I think I’d be voting no.

You still have the same problem, you’ve just moved it to the general election.

Ehhh.. I'm gonna hope Texas changes quite a lot.. =)

Preferably in a sane and blue direction..

I so wish Worcester city council would truly absorb this information and act on it.

Yes, but modern solar panels last ~20-30 years.

You can solve the supply chain risk with a strategic reserve of solar panels in a warehouse somewhere.

Significantly easier than the same with oil and gas.

And there's likely a cut to Masssave coming up from MA pols, so expect our exposure to these risks to continue.

(There are potentially other good things in the climate bill, but the $1B reduction is a real kick in the teeth)

Boy, it would be really handy if we'd sped up the transition to renewables like solar and wind that aren't impacted by what's happening at the Strait of Hormuz.

war as Content, first and foremost, with no plan necessary for the aftermath because plans are boring and don’t play well on television

Proximity restores health. As reported in The Lancet, walking 7,000 steps a dayβ€”about one hourβ€”reduces major risks: cancer, cardiovascular disease, dementia, depression, and diabetes. Walkable proximity turns life into prevention, compressing morbidity and extending well-being.

What’s wild to me is that the sketch points out that oil was a major factor with Iraq but they tried to hide that fact.

Now with Venezuela Trump is just totally open about it. Yes we’re stealing their oil.

Car brained regressives claiming to care about disabled people while pushing back on non car infrastructure alternatives has always been *wildly* disingenuous.

Fair enough. I’m certainly not referring to it as an excuse.

Multiple things can be true simultaneously:
- He absolutely has a racist and xenophobic disregard for the lives of non white people.
- I also think his poll numbers and the Epstein files made it more likely that he would do this.

01.03.2026 19:25 πŸ‘ 2 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Have we actually learned nothing?

This is the most stupid, illegal, reckless attack on Iran.

The Iranian regime is obviously awful, as was Sadam in Iraq, but doing this with no plan for the aftermath is *obviously* horrendous and stupid.

It's also obviously about Epstein and flagging poll numbers
