We're getting shows that are constantly having characters explain things out loud for an audience who may be on their phones and chuds still take the wrong message away.

Maybe we need to accept they're being willful with their ignorance rather than worrying about what message they take away.

I'm sorry, this is an awful take. Shows have to be compelling, and chatacters charismatic, even when they're bad. We shouldn't stymie creativity because chuds take the wrong message away.
