It follows that pooling the purchasing power of our public agencies might help us incentivize markets to adopt terms in our contracts that are actually in the public's best interest. I'm curious to see if this model could work to promote Responsible AI practices in industry.
I've been working in local government for ~6 years and I've finally learned that #procurement is the key to building better digital government. How we choose to invest public dollars on tech is one of the best tools we have to set the terms of their use.
