Let's go watch that video again where he's slapping his balls around a campfire like a fucking idiot one more time. That's what good leaders do, I'm told.

And none of the reasons for the layoffs are, let me guess, terrible decisions from leadership and/or overhiring during COVID...right?
So. You guys. That's...that's bad, right?
If you think that Obama's win wasn't about W's deficits, then you still don't understand the mindset of the average American voter.
This is the easiest fucking headline to understand and Bessent is the worst messenger to proselytize the decisions behind it.
Epic fucking disaster for Trump
I'd like to thank whatever enterprising photo editor at the Times picked this hero image. No notes. Perfectly executed. Hats off. I think I love you.
K so he's not going to drop out then.
Good thing that Murkowski, Fetterman, and Collins have zero problem spending this money for no apparent reason with no apparent end in sight. (From a story in Politico.)
They are assuredly dying assets. Look at their balance sheets. The business is in structural decline. To think otherwise is pure delusion. Take care!
This out-of-breath windbag who reminds me of everything I hated about high school (we're the same age and let's just say I'm familiar with his "aesthetic") voted with Republicans yesterday in allowing DT to conduct an illegal war.

Yeah, I'm not tempted to wish this on the worst people I could think of. Horrifying is the only word that comes to mind. Utterly horrifying.
A lot of you need to be reminded that unless you live in Texas, this primary had nothing to do with you.
No rational person would rack up $79B in debt to buy a dying asset. It's all just so nuts.
I don't think they feel that way now that they're about to be overpowered by Iran's military. Maybe a bit of buyer's remorse for trusting these people. We'll see!
CNN was no longer necessary after we had the Internet. And it never accepted the realities of scale since that time. But Ellison (I mean Larry) is no Elon even if he looks like it on paper. He isn't a wizard at bundling debt into a new company to keep creditors off his back.
Your fellow Ringer colleague @mattbelloni.bsky.social nailed the landing here re: all that insane, eye-watering debt.

Those journalists were getting laid off no matter what happened. Can't stop structural decline.
CNN was doomed no matter what. I hope those people go on to start some truly innovative independently funded news projects. They should.
That didn't take long.
How you think the Saudi's are feeling about that cozy deal they made for their pal Kushner this morning?
I still argue (and been some really great critiques from the good people at The Ringer re: this as of late no question) that the Ellisons are in fucking denial about its creditors. They will not have long before the bill come due, and the math ain't mathing.
Do people in MAGA world even realize that Iran (not that it matters) isn't part of the Arab world?
There's nothing more on brand for St. Louis than using social media to point out the inaccuracies of HBO's "DTF St. Louis."
St. Louis? Keep being you. Don't change a thing.
I don't know @joshuajfriedman.com but I'm happy to see that Bluesky is investing in resources to help growth and encourage diversity of voice and perspective for the only non-algorithmic social app at scale.
Seriously, that's not nothing. Bravo.
Did anyone else start an unprovoked war over the weekend? I was thinking about it, and then decided that putting millions of people at risk around the world wasn't worth it, especially since, like, regime change is just SO fucking hard.
This is so, so, so, so, so good.

I'm pretty pissed at the Internet for making me rewatch that video of Jack Dorsey whipping his balls in his underwear around a campfire.
It's almost like you guys are trying to remind me that he's not a trustworthy business leader for some reason?
Also, today is terrible.
"If this were the Biden admin?" question is a little cliche I realize but JFC.
The people who bark from the cheap seats about media consolidation may want to reconsider why Netflix was really that terrible for the entertainment business and the people who work w/in it.
Terrible day if you live and work in Los Angeles.
Not many people includes me. I don't know who this person is and it's not shocking to imagine that someone else doesn't either.
And that smug asshole Oz nodding along like he's not also a rich grifter. These people...
David Ellison will now have the opportunity to ruin not just one but two legendary movie studios. The unions could have come out swinging for the Netflix deal. Instead, they're probably going to get a CEO who is already jaw fucking CBS.
This timeline is the worst.
