Writing a poem about meeting Hieronymus Bosch in a pub and very much leaning into this vibe. Why are we meeting? We have big plans. If I publish the poem, you'll find out. Might take it to Glyn Maxwell's @poetryschool.bsky.social MA grad seminar on Monday so it can be appropriately eviscerated ;)

Every poem speaks of lived experience of caring, something undervalued and ignored by a society that prefers not to think about illness. It's easy not to understand something if one hasn't experienced it. Poetry matters because it can communicate this experience in a visceral way.

My latest book is Permanence, written with Stephen Paul Wren, a surreal dive into the world of microplastics. @betarish.bsky.social said: 'a series of striking reflections on plastic, how it has shifted from wonder substance to menace.' Published by Atomic Bohemian. DM me for a signed copy.

Although audience response is not an infallible guide to the value of your poetry, if you read between the lines of what people say, their hidden feedback can be useful.
