I just considered there will be lots of macro art for #macromarch, and since macro is kinda about environment, backgrounds are prominent and tend to have to be well-planned.
So what I'm saying is send (sfw) macro art you think is very good so I can study how they handled the background/perspective.

Yeah, I would recommend it at least for streetscapes and such. But also feel free to do it your own way; drawing backgrounds shouldn't feel like a chore, and sometimes more irregular or stylized backgrounds can be interesting too

If you haven't already, learning how to construct perspectives goes a long way. That's helped me at least get comfortable with drawing backgrounds to the point that I can feel like I'm consistently improving whenever I draw them

Eight copies of the same drawing of an anthropomorphic dog, each using different colors. He's got his left arm over his head, with his hand pointing down, and his right arm towards the camera making a tilted L pose, with both arms together framing his face, which is winking with his tongue out. The first palette uses reds and browns. The second uses blues and purples. The third is mostly green, with black paw pads and nose. The fourth is a very dark blue (almost black), with light brown accents. The fifth is bright orange and deep crimson, with red irises in yellow sclera. The sixth is a dark blue with white, canvas-colored paw pads, a light gray nose, and orange eyebrows. The tongue is an orange-yellow gradient. The seventh is dark green, but this time with an off-white accent color. The eighth is various shades of brown, with nearly-black eyes and black eyebrows, and a darkening gradient on the tail.

That is fair, you can tell how tedious drawing that was by the fact that I didn't even add it to the last two full drawings
A ref sheet of my new Mario OC, Mundi. He's a Yoshi for the most part, but he has some features of Rex like a spike on his nose, spines going all the way to his tail, and tiny wings on his back. He's mostly covered in splotches of two different shades of blue, which resemble coastlines. There are two principal 3/4 drawings and a few details, one showing his orange tongue, one showing his feet without shoes (pretty much referenced directly from Boshi in SMRPG), one of a map of Dinosaur Land inked on his wing, and one of the world map drawn on his stomach. There are also a couple extra drawings, one of him pacing and bent over a map, the other of him flutter-kicking and staying airborne as long as he can on his little wings, looking through a telescope. In the background is the linework from a map of the southern Mushroom Kingdom with a grid and subtle map texture.
Long overdue, but I finally made a Mario species OC for myself! He's a dinosaur somewhere between Yoshi and Rex who spends his days exploring and drawing maps of the world
