This pretty greylag goose has arrived in Broomfield Park with her more conventional partner. Will they take over the coots nest? Is she a hybrid? #greylag #birds #geese #nestingtime

Time to change the shopping plans. Produce from Spain: olive oil, wine, olives, cheese, cold meats, fruit, every sort of veg, fashion, brandy, nuts. So much choice. Hold your chorlinated chicken & horrible chocolate USA.

Spanish PM SΓ‘nchez responds to Trump:

"Spain is against this disaster... Govts are here to improve people's lives... It is absolutely unacceptable that those leaders who are unable to fulfill that mission use the smoke of war to hide their failure, and in the process, fill the pockets of a few."

Humane mousetraps work. This little mouse brought upstairs by my cat was caught and now released back into nature. #Mice #BeKind

I just fed the swans today and the smell of the silt they were eating from was sewage.

Dirty water, death and decline: the inside story of a privatisation scandal There is no end in sight to the pollution caused by a β€˜broken’ system. Experts say it could even be getting worse

β€œProf Pedro Arrojo-Agudo, UN Special Rapporteur on the human right to clean water, has singled out the English system for criticism, saying water should be managed as a publicly owned service, rather than run by private companies set up to benefit shareholders.”

Good to hear the Tate speaking up so eloquently for the value of free entry to our great national museums and galleries. Neil Macgregor & Nick Serota were important advocates in the original campaign. Visitors numbers have more than doubled. A great act of cultural equity.

This is British Culture. We still celebrate the glorious humanity of William Shakespeare while the religious fanaticism of Bloody Mary a few years earlier is rightly in the dustbin of history. #McKellen #migrants #BritishCulture #Reform youtu.be/DceEunnTA3A?...

Record Review - Sibelius's Symphony No. 5 in Building a Library with William Mival and Andrew McGregor - BBC Sounds Andrew McGregor picks the best new classical releases, with Cathy Newman and William Mival

Recordings of Sibelius's 5th symphony. He described seeing 16 swans circling overhead as 1 of his greatest experiences, inspiring the #swan theme. Great performances bring together "extraordinary muscular force with something deeply lyrical and loving" 1 hr in www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/...

Google Maps was always really helpful. Now destroyed by sponsored links hiding the results you want. Easy to make a mistake if you don't already know route. I hate it's sending me to private clinics instead of my NHS appointment

A resident pair who have taken ownership of a territory do not tolerate other adult swans there. As their young ones grow to full size they chase them away quite aggressively (particularly as they turn white) so they can concentrate on making and raising their new family.

A precious moment as we rescue our lonely cygnet Vee, who had been driven out of the water by his parents. Vulnerable to dog attack on land it was time to take him to a safe flock where he can learn and mature. Basically time for swan university. He was calm & trusting #NatureConnection #swans
