Im halfway through Mass Effect: Initiation (one of the three Andromeda tie-in books).
The Cora Harper in this book is 100x more interesting than the Cora in the game and that isn't even Game!Cora slander, just *damn*. (I'm also noodling around with the idea that maybe they were wrong about SAM-E)

I decided prior to reading any of the actual ME:A books to have Cora Harper come be the actual moral core of my story (Tann's machinations, whatever Harry Carlyle is doing, Sara Ryder in her Warlord era, Scott Ryder as a jealous ass, etc).
I can already tell I hit a home run
(And Ygara is 50000% the reason she DOESN'T trust Reyes at first and is ready to rip him to shreds if he hurts Ryder. Because she was her friend goddamnit)
I've started reading one of the actual real Mass Effect Andromeda books (initiation - the Cora/Alec/SAM one)
and my instinct to write this woman as eventually getting along with Reyes Vidal very strongly is 100% on the money
It is one of my favorite games I've ever played. I've beaten it three times. My most recent Ryder lives in my head in a way few OCs I've developed have and miiiight be inspiring me to learn another language.
Andromeda is phenomenal, and you deserved to have someone tell you that.

i have literally never written any form of outline, plan, or story bible in my life so that should tell you how BORED I was 🤣

I'm 12 chapters in to my roughly 30 chapter Ryder/Reyes story.
Good or bad Sara Cecilia is never going to be "fawn" or "flight" or "freeze" when faced w crisis points. She's absolutely the "FIGHT" in the "Four F's".
And >that's< the driver of conflict. What if she's actually her own worst enemy.
