It's #WorldBookDay! My children's school has opted for decorating potatoes to save parents the hassle and expense of costumes. Fairly sure you can all guess the famous snowy owl my daughter has recreated, but any fellow parents recognise my son's choice?

That is very reassuring. Hoping I'm near the end of that bit. Had to deal with three bots, three more bots, the teleporter bot and tank bots, the flying swarm bot, and a boss bot - no save stations in between!

Beat the bastard - and instantly remembered the subsequent feeling of "oh please let there be a Save Station up ahead" 🙏

Been waiting since 2007 for a new Metroid Prime, yet already find myself dying over and over in 4 (bloody psy-bot teleporter in Volt Forge).

How long before I admit I'm old and slow, and switch to Casual Mode? ☹️

I never got into breeding, shiny hunting and all that. I just focus on beating the league in each gen and filling out my dex as much as possible along the way :)

Agreed. Feels like there's a lot less grind in newer generations.

I LIKE seeing which Pokemon are in the grass, rather than being bombarded by the same monster over and over again.

I LIKE the battle screen making it clear which move is which type, and which will be super effective.

It's lovely going back, but I'm so glad we moved ahead

As much as FireRed feels like coming home (although I do miss the Gen 1 graphics), it makes me appreciate all the advances Pokemon has made since.

It might be shameful to admit it, but I LIKE having ExpShare from the start so my Pokemon level up relatively evenly
