Door with with 'Assistive Technology Hub' on a official plaque with a poster underneath that shows the logo underneath which reads 'Assistive Technology Hub and simplified grahics of glasses, hands signing in BSL and a wheelchair sitting above the keys of a keyboard.
Got an official plaque for the door to go with our poster. Think we've made it people.

Two upright computer mice. The left one is shorter and wider, also less shiny
The box for the smaller, better mouse. A Logitech lift.
Goodness, the relief of a more comfortable mouse! The left is the new one and it fits my hand SO much better! Equipment is important.

This can't just be fought by classroom teachers using industrial action. It needs the voices of the big MAT leaders putting pressure on the DfE and Ed Sec for the good of all. Those voices of influence need to be using that influence now.

The Cape Town bus tour plays an amazing soundtrack with the commentary, including Toto's Africa (CD available). You've never truly heard Africa through headphones until you've heard it half way up Table Mountain through tinny earphones that only play max volume. Pure, unadulterated joy.

Dawn will be cremated this coming Sunday. So if you would like to quietly remember her sometime that day it would be a lovely thing to do.

Ah, the Achilles Heel of an otherwise indestructible phone.
(If you really need one I might actually have a couple lying around, hit me up and I can send.)

Screenshot of an AI tool that can summarise an image as text.
Two assistants I find useful ...
1) This summarises an image as text for alt-text - either long form or short - I do usually edit it to my own requirements but makes a good start.

Also so honoured to be speaking at an event in Kristy's memory as she's the reason I'm a disability practitioner at all. I hope to do her legacy proud.

I'm pretty much all-in with using an AI assistant at work as a productivity tool. Never had anything available to me that's as useful for daily tasks and is the biggest time saver since me adopting dictation.

Can't really advise on that because I don't honestly know which is better for what- I use MS Copilot as my gaff has a licence and it does everything I need it to, currently. I call mine Dave.

I'm aware of the controversies around the use of AI tools (I mean, I work in a university) but for this here support worker, it's the best thing that's happened since the co-op started putting yellow discount stickers on the cakes every friday.

On average, the AI tool I'm using at work saves me about 6-8 hours a week and I'm not an advanced user by a long shot. As the ATA for the uni I'm a team of one for an institution that has something like a gazillion staff and students so for me, it's quickly become invaluable.
