It's OK to do shitloads of private art. fucking about. imagery, writing, music, hell folding bits of paper on the desk while you space out after a migraine and the pain's gone but you're still floating and cutting into the paper with an artknife and laughing at the absurd little thing you just made.

An epic analysis of 5,000 years of civilisation argues that a global collapse is coming unless inequality is vanquished

One sign of a bubble is when the major players do gimmicks to hide the cost of the bubble.
If the thing was clearly a good value, they'd just say "look at us investing in this valuable thing," rather than this obvious shell game to avoid booking the cost of building a data center.

Itβs widely known (and, I think, pretty uncontroversial) that learning requires effort β specifically, if you donβt have to work at getting the knowledge, it wonβt stick.
Even if an LLM could be trusted to give you correct information 100% of the time, it would be an inferior method of learning it.

something i'll note is that if nuzzi ran catch-and-kill ops for rfk jr and lizza knew this prior to him being appointed as HHS, and instead of telling anyone, he decided to save it for his substack long after rfk jr had made communicable disease into federal policy, that's completely fucked

Todd Blanche, the deputy attorney general, issued a statement saying that I was lying about the circumstances leading up to my firing. Then I was invited by the Democrats on the Judiciary Committee to testify in front of Congress. The administration sent armed U.S. Marshals to my home to deliver a letter warning me about testifying. A career employee who was still at the department helped me get it called off before they got to my house, where my teenager was home alone. I felt the purpose was to intimidate me. And I think it was intended to send a message to other department employees, too, who might be thinking about speaking up.
I needed a lawyer. I spent the entire weekend calling all of the lawyers that I know at law firms around D.C. Everybody I talked to was saying: βThank you so much for what youβre doing. Weβll do whatever we can behind the scenes to support you.β But nobody actually wanted to sit behind me at a congressional hearing. Nobody wanted to put their name on a letter to Todd Blanche.
The DOJ ordered US Marshals to the house of the pardon attorney who refused to sign off on a pardon to give Mel Gibson back his guns. Big law firms told her they supported her but did not want to be seen representing her.
This is the use of government-sponsored fear to silence dissent.

The Psychiatrist Who Studied Nazi Officials After the War Found Something Shocking. It Didnβt Earn Him Any Fans.
Understanding the minds of monsters is no easy task.
"Nuremberg defendants were surprisingly normal, opportunists who, as he put it in a 1946 lecture, 'exist in every country of the world, who would willingly climb over the corpses of half of the β¦ public if they could gain control of the other half.'β
What's real & not in the new Nuremberg movie:
