Can’t believe The Bends is 30 years old today. I actually reviewed this for one of those 90s music fanzines that nobody read. I declared that Radiohead would never better this album. It has 2 tracks which I consider amongst the best tracks of the century, I still debate what I wrote on most days

Brian Jonestown Massacre. What a strange gig. As much time was spent tuning up before every track than actual playing. Lovely crowd, but the band were just so odd

Sad to hear that Bruce Foxton is retiring due to ill health. I’ve loved his bass playing for most of my life. He was unbelievable with The Jam m, and I saw him so many times with Stiff Little Fingers when he joined them in the early 90s for around 20 years. Proper legend

The houses are lovely. There’s one that’s been for sale a couple of times. Gigantic, full of character, and a much lower price than you’d expect to pay elsewhere. Amazing views of the river from the garden too
