Review: Decadent and disorderly, 'The Bride!' is a spectacular beast rampaging out of control As the monster and her Frankenstein, Jessie Buckley and Christian Bale serve up a messy, electrified take on 'Bonnie and Clyde' in a extravaganza stitched from classic movie references.

THE BRIDE! is a maniacal assemblage of ’30s musicals, ’40s noirs, 19th century literature and 21st century ideology. Every wacky second, you’re well aware how perilously close it is to falling apart at the seams.

Review: An ego-tripping dad hogs the spotlight at a Korean idol competition in β€˜K-Pops!’ Grammy-laden musician Anderson .Paak makes his directing debut in an East-meets-West movie about a K-pop competition show on which his son is a contestant.

Anderson .Paak could be the right star to earnestly explore what it means that the Top 40 is shifting eastward. But this adventure in Seoul is simply an ego trip.

Review: In convoluted 'Scream 7,' Neve Campbell is back, but the fun isn't Original "Scream" screenwriter Kevin Williamson takes the directing chair in a capricious and crowded sequel that resurrects old faces and introduces new ones.

Maybe in the boldest meta twist of all, the inventor of β€œScream” wants to kill it off himself.

Review: Swagger, sweat and flirtation swirl in 'EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert,' a tribute to a performer and little else Constructed from excerpts of his Las Vegas concerts during the early 1970s, the documentary captures a glitzy, reborn Presley working the crowd and thrilling fans.

The first hour of EPiC: ELVIS PRESLEY IN CONCERT convinces you that the King is the greatest entertainer who ever lived. By the end credits, he’s a god.

I think Baz Luhrmann prays aliens will discover this footage and build a religion around it.

Still waiting on Glen Powell's perfect A-list role, but this is close

Review: We're all doomed but a sly sci-fi satire, 'Good Luck, Have Fun, Don't Die,' offers parting words Director Gore Verbinski puts an inspired script by Matthew Robinson through its paces as a crazy prophet comes to a diner in search of disciples to help him save the world.

GOOD LUCK, HAVE FUN, DONT DIE opens like an AI merged THE TERMINATOR and GROUNDHOG DAY.

But this funny, savage and surprising anti-tech comedy is so intricate and angry β€” so shamelessly ambitious β€” you can’t believe today’s Hollywood put up the cash to get it made

Review: 'Wuthering Heights' is a bold, filthy fantasy β€” but these moors need more erotic heat Emerald Fennell, the provocateur of 'Saltburn' and 'Promising Young Woman,' struggles to burn down the screen even with Margot Robbie, Jacob Elordi and a tinderbox of kinks.

Turn-ons of Emerald Fennell’s WUTHERING HEIGHTS include raw eggs, rainstorms, dog collars, horse bridles, paper mushrooms and aspic-smothered fish β€” a caricature of lust that befits this unconvincingly erotic adaptation of a Victorian-era novel written by a virgin.

Essay: Ricky Martin's Super Bowl performance was an act of justice for the 1990s Though it lasted only 30 seconds, Martin's Super Bowl moment was a symbolic demonstration of how far Latin music has come in the United States.

with respect to every other outlet, no one has done a better job at covering the cultural impact of Bad Bunny before AND after his Super Bowl performance better than @latimes.com De los section. Here’s a thread, starting with this thoughtful essay on Ricky Martin

I doubt this has happened before: 11 of this weekend's top 15 movies were made independently, inc. 4 of the top 5. There is nothing holding down overall grosses and attendance more than the fact that studios have forgotten how to do what they used to do, which is to fill the pipeline with movies.
