Feel like this reality -- tremendous Trump support among contemporary churchachrist / #churchofchrist, is not more candidly acknowledged by some. @rns.org @yonat.bsky.social #AmericanReligion #ReligionNews #ChurchesOfChrist

Ryan Burge Here's Trump's vote share in 2024 among some of the largest majority white denominations. The only one that clearly favored Kamala Harris was The Episcopal Church.

I should add he's in no danger. He loves the bags until he thinks they're attacking him and then he doesn't understand how to get out of them. And then there's all kinds of drama while he runs around the house trying to rid himself of the bag that's clinging to him.

Orange cat with the handle of a bag around his neck. Typically suggests he'll soon panic and frantically run around the house trying to rid himself of said bag.

Assisting with a video camera upgrade -- looking beyond consumer webcams. Hardware recommended: Sony ZV-E10 w/Sigma 16mm f/1.4. Somewhat pricey. Is this overkill? Seeking professional-quality, portrait-grade Bokeh/depth of field, etc. Thoughts? #webcam #streaming #videography #YouTube

"[T]heir theory of power is that they have it all and no one else matters, which is a stupid theory of power. Political power is relational; it's in the ability to get and keep support, alliances, connections, to be at the heart of the kind of systems... they keep destroying." #RebeccaSolnit

One of the most miserable things about living in this era is having to watch the stupidest & most arrogant people in the world have to relearn The Why of literally everything good that we collectively do the hard way.

The answer is always β€˜Because a bunch of people died, fuckwit.’

Study history.

Every act of state brutality you tolerate when it’s used against β€œthe others” will eventually be used against you.

Once violence is normalized, the circle of β€œothers” keeps widening.

No matter whatβ€”you’ll find yourself inside it, in time.

A reminder to the news media: β€œconflicting accounts” is what you say BEFORE the incontrovertible video evidence appears. After that, your job is to ask why one side is lying, not to repeat the lie and pretend no one knows the truth.

Violence is always unacceptable. Even when passions run high.

Anyone engaged in violenceβ€”especially against law enforcementβ€”should be fully prosecuted.

God bless the Capitol Police and the honorable men & women of law enforcement who show great courage keeping all of us safe.

Graham said, β€œCount me out. Enough is enough.”

Graham called Biden the β€œlegitimate president of the United States,” and told colleagues definitively that β€œit is over” and the Biden-Harris administration would begin on January 20th.

Earlier Wednesday, supporters of Trump breached the U.S. Capitol, forcing a lockdown of the lawmakers and staff inside. Trump has claimed widespread voter fraud to explain away his defeat to President-elect Joe Biden, though election officials have said there wasn’t any.

Graham said that β€œif you’re a conservative,” the idea that Vice President Mike Pence could reverse the results of the election, as President Donald Trump had urged him to do, was β€œthe most offensive concept in the world.”

β€œThere’s no question β€” none β€” that President Trump is practically and morally responsible for provoking the events of the day. No question about it. The people who stormed this building believed they were acting on the wishes and instructions of their president,” McConnell said. β€œThe leader of the free world cannot spend weeks thundering that shadowy forces are stealing our country and then feign surprise when people believe him and do reckless things.”

I know this feels impossible now, but I swear, on January 6 itself, there was a pretty broad bipartisan consensus that storming the Capitol to find and kill lawmakers was bad, and that Trump was responsible for inciting his followers to try it
