In a democracy, we are supposed to feel like we have control over our lives because the people control the government.
But in the U.S., people feel like our lives are out of control because the people donβt control the federal government.
NEW: The unfathomable Minnesota transcript that must be read, as it tells the reality of America today.
"I am not white, as you can see," Julie Le β a government lawyer β told a federal judge on Tuesday. "And my family's at risk as any other people that might get picked up too ..."
Law Dork:
We did not properly punish the confederates. We did not properly punish the insurrectionists on January 6th. We have to punish ICE.
They canβt be allowed to slink back into their communities quietly. Expose them. Arrest them. Convict them. Imprison them.
Not to mention there was a manhunt for his killer, who was not a government employee, and who is currently imprisoned.
Wow! Sounds incredible. Do you have a map you could share of the route?

The full extent of what the FBI will be able to gather from Natansonβs devices will rest on her, and the Postβs, digital security hygiene. βIt really depends on, were the devices up to date?β Sandvik told me. βWhat type of authentication was used? Was encryption enabled on the drive? Was lockdown mode enabled on the phone? Were disappearing messages used on Signal?β If Natanson uses Macs, for instance, even if they are fully encrypted, βthat encryption only kicks in when the device is fully powered off,β she said. βWhen you power the device on and you log in that first time, that is when you unlock or decrypt the drive.β The same would apply to a phone. βSo if she knew this and she saw the FBI outside her door,β Sandvik noted, βthe smartest thing to do would have been to go and power off all her devices.β
If you see federal agents pulling into your driveway, reporters, power down your electronic devices ASAP.

Successful PAPVR and ASD repairs in my heart. Back home after only 3 nights in the hospital. Thank you to my wonderful surgical and care team at UW Medicine! β€οΈ
The United States is behaving like a rogue state. The President has carried out an illegal act of war, kidnapped a foreign head of state, and is now threatening military action against NATO allies. This is a constitutional crisis.
Impeachment must be on the table.
Yes very much so
Headed in for an open-heart tune-up: a couple ASDs and a PAPVR are making my right ventricle overwork. Not an emergency β just preventative repairs. Going old-school chest-crack with a steel-wire reassembly. A few slow weeks aheadβ¦ wish me luck.
Stunning!
All it takes is one bad gig.

I think a powerful short film would be Judi Dench eating an entire rotisserie chicken with her bare hands
Poor man's carbonara with leftover spaghetti noodles and Xmas ham, sacrilegiously egg beaters instead of real yolks worked. Leftovers FTW!

Stow & go is the best kind of black magic
If higher dimensions exist, and dimensions above three would allow higher-dimensional beings to "view" what we experience as subjective time all at once, does that mean we lack free will? Since a higher dimensional being would know our entire future, e.g. it is predetermined?
Just want to share with my American friends how the Australians respond to a shooting tragedy. Action, rather than thoughts and prayers.

We all know Clarke's "sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic"
