yeah, difficulty does spike a bit when you get to the dark world, but i think the game still manages to keep it reasonable, and it helps sell that you've been thrown somewhere a lot more dangerous.

just be aware that you are expected to talk to NPCs and remember things you found but couldn't get to

true, half of them weren't born until after 5 came out

same people complaining that gta6 is going woke. in gta4 you have to beat someone up for harassing niko's gay friend, there's a radio talk show where someone calls for conservative talking points because it's racist, sexist, and hurts poor people. it's not "gone woke", you're just illiterate.

literally my only criticisms of the game are that the shoulder buttons should have been used, and the ice physics, other than that it's basically perfect

all the exploration stuff is a great balance of being out of the way enough to feel like you're exploring without being obtuse, there's no bullshit like the kinstones in minish cap, the whole game design is just nintendo at its best, feeling great and always subtly hinting you in the right direction

bosses are all unique, especially moldorm who people hate but i love it because it's a unique movement challenge and it doesn't kill you because they knew it was difficult, loads of neat interactions like banging your sword on a wall to alert enemies of your presence

but yeah i've played through it like 8 times, fucking masterpiece of a game. despite having the most dungeons, they're pretty consistently designed the best in the series, even the ice dungeon is only bad because of its physics, it has one of the neatest puzzles in the series

it doesn't come up very often in conversations but it is one of my favourites, and unlike most of my other favourites, a game i'd recommend to pretty much anyone
