They were stakeholders on a project of mine and I thought it was crazy how much the did specifically in preparation of St Paddy, but different police agency, different needs
Metra has their own
I am excited to see Edgewater Neighbors for Responsible Development's take on allowing 4-6 units per lot...gasp...west of Broadway
I think placing the decision on the governor is a good move bc she either moves to tax wealth at the state level or Mamdani ends up with one of the least regressive taxes. Either way its a win for middle class. Don’t love the eating into rainy day fund part though
Im so confused, if they really want this why does it have to be a surface lot? So it can be changed into something else later?
Want to know the real reason property tax bills went up in Cook County? Corporate tax breaks.
Companies hire property tax lawyers who donate to county politicians, then those politicians give BIG tax breaks to commercial properties. It’s pay-to-play.
They get rich, you pay more.
All week from what I can tell! They also play it extending a bit into the pedway and christmas music not too long ago
Its my favorite part of every commute
Cabs tend to park under Wilson for some reason. I actually feel theres a high density up here
1/4 mile would have 660 feet in the catchment area between stops, like the dimension of ~ going to the milk section and back to entry in a typical urban grocery store. I think it’s ableist to think mobility disabled people aren’t ok with covering this distance to save them time in transit
I want to see this further broken down by trade
Idk if it helps, but Simmons is a really good state senator and I think he may be needed for a bit longer in state government. Im not sure his strengths will carry him in the same way through Washington
I know people tease them for this, but Hanna?
Should brandon veto? Im a bit conflicted on it. This outcome may be better than a shutdown
A screenshot of the legislation page for public act 104-0457.
SB 2111 no longer. We have an official Public Act! I am thrilled to enter the era of P.A. 104-0457.
We did it! And now the fun part starts. Time to dream big and be bold. September 1st will be here before you know it.
Eerily similar to the discussion around self driving cars
Simmons is very good with state level more local politics, would love to see him stay at the state or city level
Yep! I know andale market usually has publican and kismet a little further away. I also struggle to find a good sourdough when I want it the most
Technique Cycling is opening at 1323 W. Wilson in Uptown, not far from SBC HQ.

The only coverage we've seen is from avowed haters of the nearby Clark PBLs, Uptown Update. 💁

Automated bus lane, bus stop, and bike lane enforcement starts Wednesday, October 15th
Keeping bus stops clear is essential to ensuring that transit is accessible to everyone especially people with disabilities.
Bus lanes and bus stops are for buses. Bike lanes are for bikes. Keeping them clear is essential to ensuring everyone in Chicago gets where they need to go, safely and on time.
That's why we're launching automated bus lane, bus stop, and bike lane enforcement to improve rider safety and transit efficiency.
Starting October 15, six CTA buses will operate with Automated Bus Lane Enforcement systems as part of the City of Chicago’s Smart Streets pilot.
a map of Chicago symbolized into four areas. RS zones in Pilot Areas will allow ADUs by right when the ordinance takes effect; RT, RM, B, and C1 and C2 zones will also allow ADUs by right when the ordinance takes effect. RS zones that are not in the pilot areas will require an opt-in ordinance. Other areas, shown in gray, will not allow ADUs. A note says that these zoning districts comprise PD, PMD, M, and D zoning districts.
this is my best attempt so far of mapping where the ADU compromise ordinance will apply
This intersection is so bad after studying it on google maps. The stop sign going west on Walton forces the driver into a dangerous intersection where the only way to clear Cicero is to go fast and visibility is completely impaired as you cross. This death is 100% on the city’s design
This is so true or even slightly raised crosswalks can drain and have an ada slope
Uhhh pretty sure the 151 does not usually go past union station.
Chicago’s Divvy bikeshare shattered records in August:
🥇Highest month in program history: 995K rides
🥇Highest month for e-bikes: 500K+ rides
🥇Highest month for scooters: 200K+ rides
The City's efforts to make Divvy more affordable & accessible are paying off!
Do 4 flats exist? Or is this a 3 flat with a ground floor?
