I should probably delete this app again for a while. Things happening here lately have made me disgusted to the point of feeling physically ill.

It's good that you're apologising to the person at the centre of this who has been the most harmed but you seem to have no care for the dozens you burned on the way.

I'm sorry you're under a lot of stress right now from the wave of criticism you're facing. But it's happening because you contributed to something really awful. People told you what was going on, and what the consequences would be and you ignored it. You are still treating people like shit about it.

If you can't see the obvious contradiction between feeling able to dismiss trans women's experiences of a guy based on him being on your podcast to defensively distancing yourself from him then you really need to take a break from writing.

People coming to his defence seem to be spending way more time and effort on it actually.

"he treats a lot of people badly, not solely trans people" is a very weird line of defence that I keep seeing and it's hilariously unconvincing.

It bewilders me that "some trans people don't trust this one cis guy and think his actions are transphobic" is such a controversy even among trans people.

I dont think it's a stretch to see this (and regular behaviour like it) and call it transphobia.

The guy does not have to be doing it does not have to - in his heart - hate every individual trans person in the world for that to be the case.

I'm not going to get into the weeds but I think it's bad actually when a NYT writer, regardless of who it is, shows their ass a bit regarding a marginalized group and every journo on here decides the best thing to do is stand united in blaming the group for being too rude
