I went down a rabbit hole of what would pair well with my audeze lcd x and shure 846s and I need someone to talk me down from getting this thing now

Sony LP12 Walkman
If Sony made a hifi audio player that looked like their old Walkman I would spend an irresponsible amount of cash on it.
I’m so sick of subscription services, I really want to go back to using my original iPod, ripping my own music, and buying Blu-rays
I’m hoping that 2026 is the year we start saying no to ai slop stitched shadcn websites and start valuing unique experiences again.
Like a lot of other people my age, The Princess Bride and This Is Spinal Tap were a big part of my formative years and why I grew up to become the person that I am today. I don’t have the words for how sad this is.
Do agencies still do web dev projects? If I had access to cloudflare and sveltekit and claude code in 2010 there really wouldn’t have been much of anything my 20 person agency couldn’t have built.
It’s been three months since my baby was born and I’m re-entering adult life on Monday. I’ve probably gotten two weeks worth of sleep since then. Wish me luck.
Industrial design peaked in the 80s and I’d like to go back.
I’m surprised there isn’t more talk about moonrepo.dev. It isn’t much more complex than turborepo but feels like goes a long way toward the flexibility of something like bazel. Setting it up took a minute or two and it does everything I’d want in a polyglot repo.
I finally cancelled my Spotify subscription. Between boosting Joe Rogan, running ads for ICE, diluting their content with gen-AI garbage to devalue real musicians, and the CEO investing $700m in an AI weapons company, no thanks. Also it just doesn’t sound as good as other platforms like Apple Music
And importantly there’s no introspection like with functional code. There’s no way to actually learn what it does without searching through written docs or the source code. It’s a magic string that can have totally different outputs in different contexts.
String directives in JS like ‘use server’ aren’t bad because of ergonomics, but in the vast landscape of JS compilers with their various plugins, their meanings become incredibly opaque. I don’t believe more than a small percentage of NextJS developers could explain what use server does, explicitly.
I haven’t hit a ton of paper cuts when working with Cloudflare workers but one that I’ve run into with R2 in dev is that certain APIs like FixedLengthStream are only available when running with miniflare, which makes a normal debugger workflow with, say, sveltekit, really difficult and annoying.
pretty excited about this feature (thanks @ottomated.net!). dealing with file uploads can be a bit of a pain — the way it works normally is that you (or your framework) does `await request.formData()` to get a FormData object. but it has to buffer every file into memory first. that's a problem!
I didn’t realize just how much of early fatherhood was going to be getting puked on
Yes, that was a very, very hot monster.
Hoping the baby sleeps for a few hours right now so I can try and watch this
I want to live in the Tower Records in Shibuya.
All of that is to say, I’m feeling nostalgic for the time when things weren’t built to be replaced every 1-2 years and we actually owned physical copies of things.
Also Blu-ray looks and sounds better than Netflix.
We’ve been conned.
Most of the junk you buy won’t last two years. Great headphones can last literally a lifetime. AirPods are cool and I use them a lot but my Audeze LCD-X and Shure 846 genuinely change how you feel about listening to music and are built to last decades.
Mamdani has won more votes than the entire population of any of the 5 smallest states.
Both very excited and very nervous for New York and California today.
We went out for the first time since having our baby and I'd forgotten what it's like to be able to spend more than 3 minutes eating a meal while also getting to use both hands to eat.
That is of course ignoring the obvious, that the original author is in fact just gen ai content.
“Sitcoms will never be the same”? This person must live a life that absolutely no one can take seriously.
I built the same app 10 times: evaluating frameworks for mobile performance

2 of the last 5 things that I’ve ordered from Amazon just never came. Either they didn’t even ship it or it got as far as out for delivery but they just never came to my house to deliver it. It’s wild to see how, as tech has taken over all aspect of life, most things have gotten so much worse.
Well well well
Cloudflare is such a cool platform.
