I am happy to share that I will be joining the Detroit Tigers as a Player Development Assistant! I owe a huge thank you to my family, friends, and past colleagues for their support over the years. Looking forward to this new opportunity! #RepDetroit

Had a ton of fun working on this piece for Prep Baseball! I really like the profile on β€˜26 RHP Jake Ourique (Gahr, CA; LMU commit). Has 3 pitches, including a carry FF from a well below average release.

A fun arm that recently exploded onto the scene is Cooper Jesperson. As Josh & Andy mentioned, his slider has more horizontal break than the average big league sweeper.

Here’s a better look at how his slider’s movement compares to the average MLB RHP sweeper in 2024.

Wisconsin 2025 Rankings: RHP Prospects Highlight This Class This class' strength lives in its right-handed pitching depth; 9 prep righties stand out for very different reasons.

Two of my best friends, Josh Fields and Andy Sroka, wrote this great piece for Prep Baseball WI a few weeks ago breaking down the loaded RHPs in the state’s senior class. It was a ton of fun to help them research and visualize some of data. Check it out!

10 out of 11 of the softest hit HRs this season were hit pull side. Here’s a look at how xwOBA and xSLG for line drives and fly balls differed based on the direction they were hit in 2024 ⬇️

My good friend Peter Hamot of Prep Baseball wrote this piece about some of the top prep prospects in Illinois’ 2025 class.

He mentions that Jaden Fauske is arguably the best prep bat to emerge from Illinois in years. The LSU commit’s batted ball data stood out from his workout at the #PBAAG24 ⬇️

Really cool to see Paez getting some love!! He was absolutely gross during his time in Salem this year. Before his promotion, Jedi increased his K% and somehow dropped his already minimal BB%. Not to mention, he got up to 40” of separation between his changeup and sweeper on multiple occasions.

I didn’t think to check the date until just now, but on May 19th Jhostynxon hit a game tying HR for low-A Salem in the 9th inning.

6 months later, to the exact date, he is added to the 40-man.

Dobbins and Jhostynxon GarcΓa are indeed being added by the Sox to their 40-man roster. They’re the only new adds.

This was a great read! I decided to play with the data a bit, and this was inspired by something similar that @elibenporat.bsky.social posted on the other app. Small sample size, but impressive combination of contact, swing decisions, and power by DeLauter and Emerson.

This is really interesting! I remember @alexfast.bsky.social pointing out on the other app that in 2022, Comerica had by far the lowest wOBA on hard hit fly balls out of all 30 ballparks. It looks like this year Comerica ranked bottom 5 in both wOBA & xwOBA on contact, per statcast.
