Board of Directors decisions Following a Board of Directors meeting on December 18, the broadcaster confirmed that it cannot commit to hosting JESC2026 in France. In order to balance its 2026 budget, France Télévisions must make an effort of 140 million euros – combining cuts, savings and increased revenue.

Nowhere is this more true than for the contest that this round-up usually is dedicated to. So for this December you are not getting a regular round-up. Instead, we will be looking back at all the best releases of each month, while also highlighting the best of December.

Eight performers remain in the running. 260 submissions The broadcaster previously opened an open call for songs, receiving 260 submissions.
